Isn't Spam illegal? Won't new laws make the problem go away
so there is no need for me to do anything about it?
A: The
"Controlling the Assault of Non-Solicited Pornography
and Marketing (CAN-SPAM)" Act that took effect in the
United States in January of 2004, does not make Spam illegal.
It places certain restrictions on what bulk mail senders
can do, but provided they comply, they can still send Spam
And CAN-SPAM does not apply to email sent from outside the
US, even though other jurisdictions around the world have
some measures in place. Statistics from email security vendors
indicate that the volume of Spam intercepted on behalf of
their customers has not dropped significantly since the
CAN-SPAM act came into force.

Q:
I already have your Spam filter why should i purchase the
premium email service?
A: Our
free Spam filter offers some measure of protection. But
our filter rules have to apply to all our customers therefore
they are very lenient. Since not everyone's view on Spam
is the same, all we can do is provide the minimum level
of protection. Also the cost of scanning email for viruses
is not cost effective and leads towards higher maintenance,
increase server load and a decrease in response time.

If I always send an 'unsubscribe' message, doesn't that
keep me off any Spammers lists?
A: Most
people in the Information Technology field agree that this
doesn't work. Spammers have no regard or respect for your
wishes. By un subscribing you may be confirming to the Spammer
that your address is valid and that you read their E-mail.
This usually results in more Spam being sent to your mailbox.
The same is true for many "click here to unsubscribe"
links-they can contain a hidden field that transmits your
email address back to the Spammer's server.

you sign-up to Postini, you will receive an email confirming
your subscription and containing login information. From
there you will be able to safely view emails suspected of
containing viruses as well as your Spam Once a day when
your mail is processed, you will receive an email from Postini
letting you know it stopped Spam or viruses. You can then
review these messages online and delete them. Please note
that the Postini service deletes messages older then 14
days.

Can i adjust the degree in which my mail is filtered?

Once logged in you will be able to "fine tune"
your settings. By default all the Postini settings are set
to the most lenient., this can easily be adjusted by you
with just a few clicks of the mouse.

I love this service, can you setup my other email addresses
not from cloh.net?
A: No.
Unfortunately this service requires changes to email servers.
Only current Cloh.Net customers and hosted web sites
can benefit from this service. This will not work on Hotmail,
Yahoo mail or any other email service because it requires
certain changes to email servers.

How long is blocked email stored on the server?
A: 14
days, with no exceptions. After 14 days the mail is deleted
and there is no way to bring it back once it's gone.
